FEDSTATS is the central repository of U.S. Government statistics. It has a wealth of data, but you may have to take a little time to dig out exactly what you want. 
 The CIA perspective, including maps, of every country, in their continuously updated World Factbook.
You may not check them every day, but when there is a hurricane coming, there is no better source of information than the National Hurricane Center

Identity theft is becoming more common. If you believe your credit information has been stolen, you may want to put a "fraud alert" on your account at the three credit reporting bureaus: Equifax (800-525-6285), TransUnion (800-680-7289) and Experian (888-397-3742).
