Introduction to Programming and Algorithm Design (COP 1000)

• Text and Lecture Notes – these are notes I use to lecture, and that you can use as a readers' guide to the text as you study it.
• Obtaining and Installing the course software. Follow the directions provided here to obtain the software and install it on your home computer.

• Example programs. Here are lots of Python programs, organized by chapters, with descriptions and notes. The best way to learn a new programming language is to study working programs, modify them and observe the results.
• Python homepage. Everything Python here!
• A sample exam for you to familiarize yourself with the format of a typical exam in this class. The exams you take will be similar. You can use this Python quick reference card during exams, as well as the Graphics Module API reference.
• The ASCII Character Code Table is always useful to programmers.
